Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)

Role Overview:

The Wi-Fi Architect will lead the design, development, and optimization of Wi-Fi architecture for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) products. This role focuses on enhancing Wi-Fi performance through radio/antenna optimization, real-world simulation, and data-driven improvements. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, resolve defects, and drive innovation in Wi-Fi technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and optimize Wi-Fi radio/antenna parameters to improve customer experience.


Develop metrics and methodologies to measure Wi-Fi performance gains.


Build lab setups to simulate real-world conditions and analyze Wi-Fi behavior.


Research traffic models, industry trends (IEEE/WFA/WBA standards), and emerging Wi-Fi technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi 6/6E/7).


Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical requirements, test strategies, and automation frameworks.


Troubleshoot and resolve complex lab/field defects in a fast-paced DevOps environment.


Validate design specifications, focusing on product architecture, testability, and compliance.


Drive Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and contribute to test automation improvements.



Required Qualifications:

8+ years of hands-on experience with WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) and security standards (WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X).


Expertise in Wi-Fi extenders, mesh networks, and steering protocols (802.11k/v/r).


Proven ability to analyze Wi-Fi performance and resolve engineering challenges in CPE products.


Experience with Wi-Fi test automation frameworks and industry standards (IEEE, WFA, IETF).


Strong collaboration skills with Product, Development, and QA teams to align technical requirements.


Ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.



Preferred Skills:

Background in telecom/cable industry or ISP environments.


Knowledge of DOCSIS, RDK, or embedded systems.


Familiarity with Python/Shell scripting for test automation.
